Emilio Pucci

Emilio Pucci, a dashing Florentine aristocrat, began his fashion career unexpectedly on the slopes of Zermatt in 1947 when the photo of a revolutionary ski suit he’d designed for a female friend found its way to the pages of Harper’s Bazaar.

The Pucci family home, a Renaissance-era Palazzo in the heart of Florence, was the ideal location for the young couture fashion house, enthralling press and clients who came to see the collections there.

In 1950 Emilio Pucci opened a boutique in Capri and Pucci’s fashions began to reflect their Mediterranean identity, with splashes of exuberantly coloured print and precious Italian fabrications.
